Strala is the movement system that ignites freedom. Founded by Tara Stiles in 2008, Strala focus on moving softly through simple and challenging moments alike, guiding the attention inward, encouraging fun and playful exploration, and creating space for connection to the self.
Strala’s class types include STRONG (intense flow) RELAX (chill flow) ENERGIZE (invigorating flow) BASICS (awareness flow) and GENTLE (restorative flow). The movements are fueled by the breath, allowing each inhale to lift, expand and open, and every exhale to move further into the experience. An oceanic quality of calm power guides the experience. The result is a great feeling of expansion, freedom, strength, and radiance from the inside out.
Strala is known for its laid-back, energetic and open vibe, and positive community. Strala classes are regularly led by thousands of Guides around the world in partner studios, clubs, and Strala Studios. The original Strala studio is in SOHO in NYC.
Strala supports President Clinton’s initiative to combat childhood obesity with the Alliance for a Healthier Generation and is practiced in 22,000 schools across America. Strala has been profiled by The New York Times, Times of India, The Times (UK) and featured in most major national and international magazines.
