With an annual budget of around $600,000, the NoHo BID manages programs that improve quality of life and promote economic and cultural vitality.
Sanitation and Graffiti Removal
The NoHo Clean Team provides over 12,000 service hours to the district annually. Our uniformed, five-person crew sweeps the sidewalks, empties and relines litter receptacles, cleans graffiti, paints street furniture, and in the winter months, shovels snow from corners and crosswalks. In FY 2015, the Clean Team pressure-washed 120 large graffiti incidents, cleaned 4,737 small incidents of graffiti, emptied and relined 30,000 bags of trash, and maintained 60 custom litter receptacles.
Public Safety and Visitor Services
Touring the district daily, NoHo’s Public Safety Team diligently monitors the neighborhood’s quality of life by reporting and responding to various incidents, including graffiti, damaged street furniture, and uncollected garbage, among others. Our team also assists visitors by providing directions to local landmarks and transit. The NoHo Public Safety Team maintains a close working relationship with the 9th and 6th Police Precincts.
Marketing and Events
The NoHo BID promotes local shopping, dining, health and fitness, arts and culture, and creative industries through a dynamic digital network comprised of social media, website, e-newsletters, and NoHo LoCo - a local coupon program. The BID’s Sponsorship Program gives NoHo businesses an opportunity to elevate and expand their unique brand. And our events, including the Annual Membership Meeting, bring community members together in celebration of NoHo’s past, present and future.
The NoHo BID takes pride in beautifying the neighborhood’s public environment. We maintain over forty flower boxes with seasonal plantings; install custom litter receptacles; and continually advocate for upgrades and improvements to the district’s historic streetscapes. Our partnership with the City’s Departments of Transportation, Parks, Planning, and Landmarks, among others, helps ensure NoHo receives the proper resources to thrive and prosper as a downtown destination.
